A Grateful Servant of God
A Sermon on Philippians 4:10-23 by Pastor Allan Santos
Watch the sermon here.
Introduction
The apostle Paul ended the book of Philippians by thanking the Philippian Church for their kindness and encouragement to Paul and for being supportive in expanding the Kingdom of God. He also explained how Christians can overcome worry and worldly desires, regardless of their circumstances. Paul also expressed his confidence that God will bless them for their generosity to God’s servants.
Outline:
Acknowledge God’s faithfulness in meeting your needs and be content with His provisions. (vv.10-13)
Trust in God’s work in using people, circumstances, and different situations to sustain your life. (vv.14-17)
Allow God to use you to be of help and a blessing to others. (vv.18-20)
Application from God’s Word:
The Apostle Paul said, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength,” does not mean that we can accomplish or win any selfish goals because God will give us the strength, or we can become invincible. It means that God will give us His peace, strength, and guidance in the difficult situations that we will face if we are fully submissive to Him.
In his letter to the Philippian Church, Paul repeatedly talked about how grateful he is to the church and their partnership with him and how thankful he is to God for them. How grateful are you to the Lord because we are part of this Church? What are the things that we could contribute to encourage it to grow?
We can only experience the deepest joy, happiness, and contentment in life if we have an authentic relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. Do you have a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ in your life today?
