Introduction

Salvation is the total work of God by which He seeks to rescue man from the destruction, trouble, and tragedy of sin in a person’s life.  God, in His unconditional love, bestows eternal life to those who will have faith and will accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Saviour.

The first chapter of Ephesians will clarify to us how we have received every spiritual blessing we have in Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ died for us to be redeemed, saved, sanctified, and to seal our salvation. Because of these, we are secure and able to live fruitful lives.  As God’s children, let us appreciate and value His working in our lives when:

Outline

  1. God displayed His goodness by choosing us before the foundation of the world and by adopting us as His dear and beloved children. (vv. 3-6)

  2. God redeemed us through Jesus Christ’s death on the cross and bestowed His grace for us to be reconciled to Him. (vv.7-10)

  3. God sealed our salvation with the Holy Spirit and guaranteed the blessings of our inheritance in Him. (vv.11-14)

  4. God chose and called us for salvation and to stand firm in our faith. (2 Thessalonians 2:13-14)

Life Applications

  1. 1. Let us be grateful to the Lord each day because we know that He chose us to be one of His beloved children.  He loved us, adopted us to His family, and forgave and continues to forgive us our sins.

    2. Remember that God values your life. May we be faithful to the Lord as we serve Him and face our life’s battles every day with complete reliance on Him.

    2. If you haven’t done so yet, decide today to be part of God’s family. May you accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour.  Acknowledge that Jesus died on the cross for the forgiveness of your sins.  Ask the Lord to forgive your sins and accept Jesus in your heart today (John 3:16).
