Introduction
Welcome to our new preaching series titled, “Knowing and Encountering our Great God.” This series will teach and affirm us of God’s power, supremacy, and presence in our lives. May all of us be encouraged and affirmed that He is in control of our lives each day.
Acts 17 will narrate to us that after leaving Philippi, Paul and Silas taught the gospel in Thessalonica and Berea, where they saw the working of the Lord. However, they experienced persecution from the unbelievers that forced the Apostle Paul to flee to Athens. There, he encountered people who believed in many different gods, and he saw the opportunity to reach out and preached the good news of salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ.

Life Applications
We have witnessed in this passage how the Apostle Paul reached out and preached to those people who need the Lord. They believed in other gods and higher power, but they do not know Jesus Christ. In your sphere of influence, how do you proclaim Jesus in your words and actions?
The message of Paul is clear: God is our creator, He is our great provider, He is our supreme ruler, and He sent His only son Jesus to carry the sins of this world. Let us all give our complete honor and praise to Him through our obedience and service.
Our God is sovereign! He is the one who keeps on sustaining and providing for all our needs. May we be grateful every day because we know that He is in charge of our lives.
