Introduction

As we move towards this Thanksgiving weekend in this ongoing pandemic, maybe some of us are somewhat sad, disappointed, and not feeling thankful. But let us remember that during these times of challenges, we could not deny how God showed us His power and miracles in our own lives and the lives of people who are trusting Him.

Today, let us learn from four Bible passages that will help us to understand why we should have a grateful heart even if we are experiencing worries, fears, and uncertainties in our lives today.

Outline

  1. Be thankful for Jesus’ power and willingness to heal our diseases. (Luke 17:11-19)

  2. Be thankful for God’s faithfulness in providing and sustaining our needs. (Deuteronomy 26:1-11)

  3. Be thankful for God’s goodness no matter the circumstances you are facing. (Ephesians: 5:15-21)

  4. Be grateful and be content in God’s providence in our daily living. (1 Timothy 6:6-10)

Application from God’s Word:

  1. In the stresses and worries that we are facing today, remember to take a break and think about all the benefits of belonging to Jesus Christ. Let us be grateful for all the blessings and most of the times forgotten enrichment that God is giving us.

  2. Let us praise God on how He is protecting us and our family in these years of pandemic. God is faithful in healing us in every sickness that we’ve encountered this year. May we acknowledge God’s sovereignty in everything.

  3. List down all the blessings that you received from the Lord this year and thank Him with a grateful heart for His protection, provision, and sustenance in your life. Never allow a day to pass without thanking God for His goodness.
