Courage

A Sermon on Daniel 3 by Derrick Manalo

Watch the sermon here.

Introduction

Courage is defined as the ability to something that frightens one or strength in face of pain or grief. Same meaning applies in our Christian walk.

As we look into Daniel 3, we find 3 friends, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, found courage to fight for their faith. Set on a time when Jerusalem has just been invaded by the Babylonians, the book of Daniel revolves on how these 4 friends struggle to find hope and courage to practice their faith in the hands of their captors. With a setting very similar to what we have right now, the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego relates to us all.

Outline

  1. Never compromise your belief.

  2. Respond with calmness and humility.

  3. Courage produces results for the Lord.

Life Application:

  1. Pray for our persecuted brethren around the World that they will find comfort in God.

  2. Guard your devotion so we can all discern false teaching from sound doctrine.

  3. Do your part to obey at the circumstance that we may be in.
