A Grateful Heart for God’s Blessings

A Sermon on Psalm 103:1-22 by Pastor Allan Santos

Watch the sermon here.

Introduction

We praise God for His goodness and faithfulness for the year 2022.  Indeed, He is our loving God who sustained and blessed us and our Church.  It is our prayer that He will continue to guide and lead us in our personal lives and as we fulfill His purpose and plans for our Church.

Psalm 103 was written by King David. He was calling upon his soul and his whole being to bless the Lord and to remember all His benefits. He remembers God’s forgiveness, deliverance, love, and provision of strength in his life.  As we reflect on Psalm 103 today, may I encourage all of you to think of how the Lord has shown you His love, mercy, protection, provision, and faithfulness throughout the year 2022.  Let us also see and appreciate the following works of God that were written in this passage.

Outline

  1. Our God who never forgets and blesses us (vv.1-2)

  2. Our God who forgives and heals us (v.3)

  3. Our God who redeems and rewards us (v.4)

  4. Our God who gives fullness of joy in our lives (v.5)

  5. Our God who provides steadfast love to us (vv.6-18)

  6. Our God who is sovereign over all His creations (vv.19-22)

God’s Word to Your Life:

  1. King David reminded himself to never forget God’s blessings and faithfulness in his life.  We as God’s children easily forget His blessings, provisions, healing, and protection in our lives.  Let us be intentional in remembering all the mighty works of God in our lives. One of the best ways to do this is by keeping a journal that will remind us of God’s faithfulness in our journey in this world.

  2. May we be encouraged of the truth that God will never abandon us.  His mercy and goodness towards us are new every day.  He is in control even as we face struggles and challenges in our daily living.

  3. Let us trust and hold on to God’s plan and will in our lives this 2023.  May we be submissive to His will and leading in our lives.
