Are you a people-pleaser willing to do everything just to be accepted and appreciated by others?

Jesus had defeated death and He redeemed us from all our sins. He resurrected and ascended to heaven, and we are awaiting His second coming.

Do you think and care about Jesus’ second coming? As a follower of Jesus Christ, do you believe that we should anticipate His coming with joy and excitement or with fear and trembling?

Salvation is the total work of God by which He seeks to rescue man from the destruction, trouble, and tragedy of sin in a person’s life.

Jesus gave His farewell discourse in John 14, He encouraged His disciples by telling them about His resurrection and exaltation. He also gave them hope when He promised that the Holy Spirit (Advocate, Helper, Counselor, Comforter) will come and be with them.

Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life and no one comes to God the Father except through Him (John 14:6).

Let us reflect on this deeper as we go through the different Bible passages where Jesus exhorted His disciples and followers to show love in their every day living.

How do you show your love and service to God recently? Do you serve the Lord half-heartedly or do you serve Him with a sincere heart by giving your best to honour the Lord.

The parable that we will revisit tonight will help us to be reminded that Jesus is surely coming - secretly and suddenly.

As we reflect on Psalm 103 today, may I encourage all of you to think of how the Lord has shown you His love, mercy, protection, provision, and faithfulness throughout the year 2022. 

The story of the birth of Jesus will give us many reasons to praise and adore His great love and sacrifice for all of us.
